Chaturmas 2026: In Sanatan Dharma, Chaturmas is considered the time of bathing, charity, worship, chanting, penance and meditation etc. Doing these things leads to spiritual purification. At this time, Lord Shri Hari Vishnu, the sustainer of the world, goes into Yoga Nidra. This is considered the time of sleep of the gods. It is believed that the worship, chanting, penance and meditation done during Chaturmas gives the best results. Every year Chaturmas starts from the day of Devshayani Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Ashadha month.

It ends on the day of Devuthani Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. It is believed that on this day Lord Vishnu wakes up from yoga nidra. This year Devshayani Ekadashi is on 25th July. Chaturmas will start on this day. Then Lord Vishnu will remain in Yoganidra for 120 days. He will wake up from yoga nidra on 20th November on the day of Devuthani Ekadashi.
