Just resetting the phone before selling it is not enough! Do these important things to keep data safe

Many people sell the phone in a hurry and forget to delete the data. In such a situation, your personal information can reach an unknown person, which can also be misused. Therefore, it is very important to take some important steps before selling the phone.

First take backup of data

Before selling your old phone, make a backup of your important data. This can include things like photos, videos, contacts, messages, documents and WhatsApp chats. Android Users can use Google Drive and iPhone users can use iCloud. Apart from this, you can also save the data on computer or any other safe place. With this, you will not face any problem in getting your old data back after purchasing a new smartphone.

Logout from all accounts

Don’t forget to sign out all your accounts before selling the phone. In this Google AccountApple ID, email accounts, and social media apps. If you do not logout your account, a new user can access your personal information.

Find My Device and remove screen lock

It is necessary to turn off the Find My Device feature in Android phones. Before selling the iPhone, Find My iPhone should be turned off and signed out of the Apple ID. Along with this, also remove security settings like screen lock, passcode and fingerprint.

Don’t forget to remove the SIM and memory card

While selling the phone, definitely remove the SIM card and microSD card. Many times people leave them along with the phone in a hurry. Due to this, contacts, photos and other personal information can fall into wrong hands.

Check the condition of the phone also

Before selling, check the phone’s screen, camera, battery and other features. If charger, box and bills are present then keep them safely too. This can increase the resale value of the phone and you can get a better price.

Finally, do not forget to factory reset the phone, so that all your personal information is completely removed and the new user can use it like a new device.
