PM Modi’s meeting with members of the Economic Advisory Council, discussion on improving ease of living-ease of doing business.

There is a lot of volatility (uncertainty) going on in the markets and economic conditions around the world. Despite this, India does not want to let the pace of its progress slow down. For this purpose, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called and chaired a meeting of the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council (EAC) on Saturday. The objective of this meeting was to review strategies to maintain India’s economic growth amid global uncertainties and geopolitical challenges. During the meeting, the Prime Minister and Council members discussed strengthening economic momentum in a volatile global environment. Along with this, he discussed many ideas, ease of living-ease of doing and policy measures to increase the strength of India. The main focus of the discussion was maintaining growth rates while ensuring macro-economic stability amid changing international circumstances.

The Council also discussed reforms to make life easier for citizens and simplify the process of doing business in different sectors. The people involved considered ways to streamline processes, promote investment and create a better environment for economic activities.

What is the purpose of the meeting?

For this purpose, two main things were emphasized in this meeting. The first is that the government will make the right rules and policies in advance according to the upcoming needs. Secondly, necessary major reforms will be made to keep the country’s economy strong for a long time.

Last month, PM Modi appealed to citizens to give priority to ‘work from home’, reduce fuel consumption, avoid foreign travel for a year, adopt indigenous products, reduce the use of cooking oil, move towards natural farming and reduce buying of gold.

To deal with fluctuating fuel prices, Prime Minister Modi urged changes in commuting patterns in India. He appealed to the citizens to reduce the consumption of petrol and diesel by using metro and public transport. Along with this, choose the option of carpooling when personal vehicles are needed, give priority to railway transport for transportation of goods and wherever possible, increase the use of electric vehicles.
