
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become the leader who has served as the elected Prime Minister for the longest continuous period in India. Many eminent personalities from all over the world have given their best wishes on his achievement. Like Italy, Malaysia and Maldives, America and Israel have also congratulated. US President Donald Trump congratulated PM Modi for making the record of serving as Prime Minister for the longest period in the country. He described PM Modi as his great friend and called him an “excellent” Prime Minister.
President Trump wrote in his congratulatory message on the social media platform ‘Truth Social’, “I congratulate my friend, Prime Minister Modi, on being the longest-serving Prime Minister of India, and he is truly a great Prime Minister.” He further said in his post that PM Modi is a “strong, healthy and wise man” and he has many years ahead of him full of “greatness and success”.
‘Excited to work with strategic partnership’
Modi has completed 4,399 days of his Prime Ministership tenure and has left behind the record of 4,398 days of India’s first elected Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
PM Modi thanked President Trump for his good wishes and said that he is excited to work with him to advance the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. Apart from Trump, many other world leaders also congratulated PM Modi.

PM Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated PM Modi
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also congratulated PM Modi on his achievement and praised him for his contribution in “transforming India” and strengthening India-Israel relations. PM Netanyahu said relations between the two countries “have never been stronger”.
He said, “You have helped 25 crore Indians escape poverty. Our friendship and the bond between our great countries has never been stronger. I look forward to meeting you again soon to continue working together in the years to come.” He further said, “We say, ‘Maje Tov’ (good wishes), my good friend, best wishes to you and India in your leadership.”
Congratulations also came from Italy, Malaysia and Canada
Many other world leaders who congratulated PM Modi on social media included Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, Maldives President Mohammed Muizzu, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Togbe, Sri Lankan President Anura Kumar Dissanayake and former Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
Apart from these, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Germany’s Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney and former United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak were included.
While congratulating, Meloni also mentioned the special strategic partnership recently started between India and Italy. He said on social media
Prime Minister Modi took oath as PM for the first time on 26 May 2014. His second term began on 30 May 2019 and after another decisive victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Modi was sworn in as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time on 9 June 2024. Modi has completed 12 years as PM.
