June 7, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Pakistan Cricket Team: The historic defeat of 0-2 in the home Test series against Bangladesh last month has created a stir in Pakistan cricket. After this shameful performance, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) now seems to be in a mood to take big and tough steps. According to media reports, two big legends are going to be removed from Pakistan’s Test team. Pakistan Cricket Board is going to dismiss these veterans from their posts.

These 2 stalwarts will be removed from Pakistan team!

According to media reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board is seriously considering dismissing Test team captain Shan Masood and head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed from their posts. To take Pakistan cricket out of this quagmire, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s advisors have suggested a complete change in the Test setup. Sarfaraz Ahmed can be removed from the post of head coach of the senior Test team and given the responsibility of junior cricket. The board wants to give him back the responsibility of managing the National Under-19 and ‘A’ teams.

Younis Khan and Mohammad Hafeez may enter

To bring the team back on track, the Pakistan Cricket Board has turned to its former veteran players. The board is currently in continuous talks with former captain Younis Khan and former all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, so that they can be assigned some important responsibilities in the national team. A PCB source told PTI, ‘I can confirm that both Younis Khan and Mohammad Hafeez have had discussions with PCB officials regarding holding important positions. However, things have not been finalized yet.

Captain Shan Masood’s chair will also go

It is considered almost certain to remove Shan Masood from Test captaincy, who flopped on both the captaincy and batting fronts against Bangladesh. However, according to sources, Masood has asked for some more time from the board. He wants to be given one last chance to captain the team in the upcoming overseas Test series against West Indies and England. But the board is now busy exploring their options.
