Patna: Khan sir gets bail, both bodyguards also get legal relief

July 13, 2026 by Uma Shankar

A civil court of Patna on Monday granted anticipatory bail to Faisal Khan alias Khan Sir and his two body guards. This case is related to the clash between two coaching institutes in Musallahpur area of the city. Earlier, due to the absence of the judge, the hearing was postponed from July 10 to July 13.

The case pertains to an incident on June 2, when a group of 15 to 20 people allegedly vandalized the premises of ‘Khan Global Studies’ (KGS) in Patna and also threw stones at the coaching institute run by Khan sir.

Investigation of the weapon used in the firing

However, the very next day, a video surfaced on social media in which two body guards attached to the institute were allegedly seen opening fire. After this the police also took both of them into custody.

Police said that the weapons used in the firing were seized and sent for forensic examination. After this, an FIR was lodged at Kadamkuan police station and both the guards are still in judicial custody.

Although Khan sir had initially alleged that people associated with a rival coaching institute were behind the attack on KGS, but later the members of that rival institute accused him of carrying out the incident.

The hearing was completed last week

Citing a viral video of the guards allegedly opening fire, the rival institute claimed that the incident was pre-planned. However, as the controversy escalated, Khan sir has denied these allegations and the matter is under investigation.

Earlier, the decision on Faisal Khan’s anticipatory bail plea was to be taken on Friday last week, but due to the session judge being on leave, it was postponed till Monday. After hearing the final arguments of both the sides on Wednesday, the court had reserved its decision for Friday. Then Khan sir’s advocate Arvind Kumar Mauar said, ‘The session judge was on leave, so the order could not be pronounced. But now the order in this matter will be pronounced on Monday.
