Why are the soldiers not going to work in PoK?
1. One of the main reasons for staying away from PoK is the threat to life. PoK is boiling right now. People have come out on the streets there. Four policemen were murdered on Monday. 7 civilians were also killed. Hundreds of people were injured. This is the third time in the last two years that a major uproar is taking place in PoK. The risk to life is highest here.
2. In PoK and Gilgit, salaries and allowances are being given much less than other provinces of Pakistan. Regarding this, 11 thousand policemen took to the streets in September 2025. These policemen said that even after the implementation of the pay scale of 2022, they are being paid on the 2012 model.
3. According to Kashmir English report, salary is also an important factor. The monthly salary of a constable in Punjab province of Pakistan is 73000 Pakistani rupees. Similarly, in Sindh, one gets Rs. 69000 per month as salary. Whereas in PoK, the salary of a constable is 15899 Pakistani rupees per month.
Why is Pakistan Occupied Kashmir boiling?
During 1947-48, Pakistan occupied some parts of Kashmir, it is called Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Its area is about 13,300 square kilometers. Pakistan has kept it as a union territory. There is currently a People’s Party government here.
The government of Pakistan is preparing to hold elections in PoK. Before this the people there are protesting. These people say that the 12 seats reserved for refugee Kashmiris in the POK Assembly should be abolished.
