Pankaj Tripathi is now coming with the family drama film ‘Oh My Dog’. But its release has been postponed at the last moment. This film, made under the direction of Amit Rai, was earlier scheduled to be released in theaters on July 31. But now it has been postponed for a week. The news is that the film will now hit the theaters on August 7. The reason for this is being said to be the Hollywood film ‘Spider-Man’.

The spokespersons of the film gave information about this on Monday morning. A press show of the film was going to be held in Mumbai, just hours before which the makers announced its new release date.

According to reports, Marvel Studios’ ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is being considered the main reason for postponing the release of the film. Trade sources say that there is a huge craze across the world for this Tom Holland and Zendaya starrer film. In such a situation, multiplex chains are preparing to give more screens to this Hollywood film, due to which ‘Oh My Dog’ was facing difficulty in getting the required screens.

Now the film will be released on 7th August
It is being told that the makers of ‘Oh My Dog’ did not want the opening of the film to be affected due to lack of screen. For this reason, he decided to advance the release date by a week, so that the film could get a better screen count and a stronger theatrical release. In such a situation, due to shortage of screens due to ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, the makers have extended the release of the film from 31st July to 7th August.

A few days before the release was postponed, the film had completed the process of Central Board of Film Certification. The Censor Board has given U/A certificate to the film, but also gave instructions to make some changes. CBFC asked to mute the names of brands like ‘Truecaller’ and ‘Dettol’ in the film. Apart from this, instructions were also given to remove one abusive word. In the film, a scene related to a dog has been shortened by about two seconds, while the frame with the photo of Lord Hanuman visible in one scene has been asked to be blurred. Not only this, the board has also instructed the makers to add two disclaimers in the film. The first disclaimer will be related to child labour, because it is a part of the story of the film. Whereas, the second one will be regarding human trafficking.

Amit Rai has made a comeback in his direction career with ‘Oh My Dog’. Apart from Pankaj Tripathi, Pawan Malhotra, Mahi Rai, Rajesh Kumar and Geeta Aggarwal Sharma will be seen in important roles. The most special thing about the film is that it depicts the story of more than 250 dogs, including trained dogs named Oscar and Bruno. Now the release of the film may have been postponed by a week, but it is believed that with this decision, ‘Oh My Dog’ will get a better chance at the box office and it will also avoid direct competition with ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, one of the biggest Hollywood releases of the year.
