The India Story First Weekend Collection: Shreyas Talpade and Kajal Aggarwal’s film ‘The India Story: Slow Poison in Progress’ has flopped badly at the box office. The film became a hit on the first weekend itself, making it clear that the film is now going to be included in the list of biggest flops of 2026. This picture did not even touch the figure of Rs 1 crore in the first three days. There was definitely some buzz about the film before its release, but it did not seem to translate into numbers in the theatres.
‘The India Story‘ Came to the theaters at a time when there is a strong buzz about Hollywood films like ‘The Odyssey’, ‘Dhamal 3’ and ‘Jan Neta’. Due to these films, ‘The India Story’ had to yearn for the audience. This film could earn only Rs 16 lakh on the first day. There was a jump in earnings on Saturday, but it was not enough. The film could earn only Rs 25 lakh on the second day. Earnings also increased on the third day i.e. Sunday, but could reach only Rs 32 lakh. In this way, the film could do a net business of only Rs 73 lakh at the domestic box office.

Worldwide also did not reach 1 crore
domestic box office Along with this, the film did badly in overseas also. ‘The India Story’ did a worldwide business of only Rs 82 lakh in the first weekend. The budget of the film is also said to be around Rs 20-30 crore. In such a situation, even finding a budget for this seems difficult.
Cast of ‘The India Story’
Chetan DK has directed ‘The India Story’. Shreyas and Kajal are in lead roles in the film. Apart from these, actors like Murali Sharma, Manish Wadhwa, Trisha Sarda, Atul Tiwari, Kamlesh Sawant and Sham Mashalkar are also seen in important roles in the film. Mangesh Dhakade has given music in the film. Cinematography is by Nishant Bhagwat. The film has been produced under the banner of MIG Productions & Studios and Zee Studio. Apart from Hindi, the film has also been released in Tamil and Telugu.
