June 10, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Questions are often raised on the education of leaders in Bihar. In the politics of the state, the education of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Yadav’s sons Tej Pratap and Tejashwi Yadav has become a big issue many times. This time, questions are being raised on Nishant Kumar, son of former Chief Minister JDU chief Nitish Kumar. There has been a big revelation in the election affidavit regarding his educational qualification, after which RJD has launched a scathing attack on Nitish.

RJD says that Nishant Kumar, who has been called an engineer for years, is not actually an engineer and is only 12th pass. After this claim of RJD, a new controversy has started in the politics of Bihar.

Revealed from election affidavit

Actually, this whole matter came to light during the recently held Legislative Council (MLC) nominations. This has been revealed in the election affidavit of Nishant Kumar himself. According to the nomination affidavit filed for the Legislative Council elections, Nishant Kumar is only 12th pass and has not completed his engineering degree. He is a college dropout. Technically Nishant is educated only till 12th class.

Did not complete engineering degree

According to the affidavit, Nishant Kumar had passed the 12th examination from Patna Science College in the year 1998. After this, he took admission in Bachelor of Engineering at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi. However, it is mentioned in the affidavit that Nishant did not complete his engineering degree. According to the document, he completed only 5 out of the 8 semesters required for the degree and left engineering in 2001. Along with this, it is also recorded in the affidavit that Nishant is not a graduate.

RJD’s attack on Nitish Kumar and JDU

Here, after this information came to light, RJD launched a scathing attack on Nitish Kumar and JDU. The party said in a post on social media, ‘Nitish Kumar’s son, whom people never tired of calling him an engineer, turned out to be 12th. He himself stated in the election affidavit that he is not a graduate. All layers of dishonest people who have been pretending to oppose familyism all their lives will be exposed. Wait’.

Along with this, in the name of this issue, RJD has also targeted the political stance of Nitish Kumar in which he has often been accusing other parties of nepotism. RJD said that Nitish has been pretending and pretending to oppose dynasticism all his life. The opposition believes that the reality of people who claim to be honest is now slowly coming to light. The opposition says that this is not just a matter of educational qualification, but also of the political image that has been created about Nishant Kumar over the years.
