After making the new record, a meeting of Chief Ministers of NDA ruled states and NDA leaders has been called at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on Wednesday afternoon, June 10. Through this meeting, there will be a show of unity as well as a show of strength in the NDA. According to the information received, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu will put forward a proposal in the meeting and leaders of other allies will support this proposal. In this proposal, the achievements of the last twelve years as Prime Minister will be mentioned.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, all ministers, MPs and MLAs have been instructed to engage in service work. In this sequence, all the MPs and MLAs will visit temples and other religious places in their respective areas. During this time, prayers and puja will be done for the health and well-being of PM Modi.
PM Modi leaves behind Pandit Nehru’s record
PM Narendra Modi took oath as the Prime Minister for the first time on May 26, 2014, since then 4399 days of his tenure have been completed. With this, we have left behind Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s record of remaining on the post of PM for the longest period of independent India. Now he has become the leader who has been elected Prime Minister for the longest tenure of the country. On June 9, 2024, he took oath as PM in the third term of NDA and he has completed 12 years of being in power.
Know how long Pandit Nehru was the Prime Minister
As the first Prime Minister of the country after independence, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru took oath as the Prime Minister on 13 May 1952 and remained the PM till 27 May 1964. Pandit Nehru was the Prime Minister for 4397 consecutive days i.e. 12 years and 14 days. As elected Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has completed 4399 days i.e. 12 years and 16 days. Although Nehru became the Prime Minister on 15 August 1947, he remained the head of the interim government for five years till the Lok Sabha elections in 1952.
Earlier, on July 25, 2025, PM Modi had left behind former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s record of longest tenure as Prime Minister of 4077 consecutive days.
Longest tenure as CM and PM
After combining both the tenures of being Chief Minister and then Prime Minister, PM Modi had become the first leader of India to remain in power continuously for more than 8932 days. Overall, the record for working continuously for the maximum number of days while in power was of former Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling (8930 days). Which PM Modi has left behind.
