Vineet Joshi has now been appointed Secretary in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. Naresh Gangwar has been appointed in his place. Naresh Pal Gangwar is a Rajasthan cadre and 1994 batch IAS officer. Before this appointment, Gangwar was working as Secretary in the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying. Naresh Pal Gangwar has also held the responsibility of Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Here he has handled matters related to pollution control and management of hazardous substances.
Completed studies in engineering and economics
Talking about his education, IAS officer Naresh Pal Gangwar has also been an engineer by profession. He first completed his BTech in Electronics and Communication from Roorkee University. After this, he completed M.Tech in Communication and Radar Engineering from IIT Delhi. He has also studied MA in Economics from Rajasthan University.
Played an important role in making solar energy policy
During his career, Naresh Pal Gangwar held many important positions in the Government of Rajasthan. He held the post of Principal Secretary of the Departments of School Education, Energy, Agriculture, Industry and Information Technology. He also served as Chairman of Jaipur DISCOM and Chairman and Managing Director of Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation.
At present, solar panels are being used in every house in many areas of Rajasthan. Naresh Pal Gangwar played a key role in formulating Rajasthan’s initial solar energy policy during the initial phase of the National Solar Mission between 2010 and 2014.
ACC appointed T.K., a 1996-batch IAS officer of Karnataka cadre and Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development. Anil Kumar was also appointed Secretary of School Education and Literacy Department. No reason was given for these appointments in the government order.
