The controversy has deepened over Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s recent statement regarding offering Namaz on the stairs of Hanumangarhi. Attacking the Chief Minister on this issue, Shankaracharya said that Namaz was never offered on the stairs of Hanumangarhi and such a claim is completely baseless. He alleged that this statement is an attempt to divert people’s attention from the alleged offering incident at Ram temple. Shankaracharya said that after the offering incident came to light, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had assured to come to Ayodhya and constitute SIT and do ‘milk of milk, water of water’, but till now the findings of the investigation have not been made public. Their allegation is that to avoid this question, an years old incident is being presented in a new form.
Shankaracharya said that first the report of SIT investigation should be brought out. When it was said that milk will be converted into milk and water will be converted into water, now its result should be told. Challenging the Chief Minister’s statement, Shankaracharya said that if Namaz has ever been performed on the steps of Hanumangarhi, then the government should make its evidence public. He said that making such a claim without any evidence is going to hurt the dignity of Ayodhya and Hanumangarhi. He said that Namaz was never held on the steps of Hanumangarhi nor was it ever allowed to be held. This claim is completely false.
‘Insult to Hanuman ji, Chief Minister should apologise’
Shankaracharya alleged that the Chief Minister has given a false statement while standing on the holy land of Ayodhya. Calling it an insult to Hanuman ji and the religious tradition of Ayodhya, he said that such statement has hurt the sentiments of crores of devotees. He said that if the Chief Minister cannot prove his claim then he should apologize publicly.
Appeal to the Mahants of Hanumangarhi
Shankaracharya appealed to the Mahants of the eight Pattis of Hanumangarhi to consider this matter and said that religious places should be kept away from political controversies. He said that it is not appropriate to make statements without proof on the subject of faith.
What did former MP Brij Bhushan say?
At the same time, on this issue, former MP Brij Bhushan also said that Namaz was never offered in Hanumangarhi. He said that these wrong people are saying that Namaz has been offered there, those who are raising the issue of Namaz should know that the temple was built by Muslims. The stone is still there today.
