That year was 2021, when Sayani Ghosh joined TMC. At that time the atmosphere of assembly elections in the state was at its peak. BJP was also breathing life into its workers. There was a search for new faces. On the other hand, Mamata Banerjee needed such bright young faces who could further strengthen the atmosphere in favor of TMC from social media to the streets. Sayani Ghosh fit perfectly on this criterion.
From entry in TMC to Mamta’s disciple
Sayani Ghosh came to TMC and with her flamboyant style, rose from the category of an ordinary leader and became Mamata’s disciple. Sayani’s voice means Mamta’s words. Sayani’s journey from cinema to politics
Well-known Bengali actress and singer Sayani Ghosh started her political innings before the 2021 Bengal Assembly elections. She joined TMC and was the party’s candidate from Asansol South seat. Although he had to face defeat in this election, the party leadership remained confident in him. In June 2021, she became the president of the party’s youth wing. Interestingly, this post was earlier held by Mamata’s nephew Abhishek.
