IND vs AFG ODI Series: After the only test match between the teams of India and Afghanistan, now a 3-match ODI series is to be played. This series is going to start from 13th June. The first match will be played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. Before this match, a major change has been made in the Afghanistan cricket team. Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has included young bowler Mohammad Salim in the squad to further strengthen its fast bowling.

Entry of new player in Afghanistan team

Afghanistan’s fast bowlers are currently struggling with injury and fitness problems. Due to which Mohammad Salim has been included in the squad. 24 year old Mohammad Salim is considered one of the fastest bowlers of Afghanistan, who can bowl at a speed of more than 140 km/h continuously. He has consistently performed impressively for domestic cricket and the Afghanistan A team. After the recent test match, the team management has given this opportunity to Mohammad Salim considering the conditions of the Indian pitches.

Mohammad Salim bowled amazingly in the only test match against India. He took a total of 6 wickets in 27 overs. During this period, he made star batsmen like KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sai Sudarshan, Shubman Gill and Dhruv Jurel his victims. Apart from him, no Afghan bowler could take more than one wicket in this match.

How is your performance in ODI?

However, Mohammad Salim’s figures in ODI cricket are nothing special. Mohammad Salim has played 2 ODI matches for Afghanistan so far. He has not been able to take even a single wicket in these matches. He has played both these ODI matches against Bangladesh in the year 2023. That means he is going to make a comeback in this format after a long time, which can prove to be a big opportunity for him. Whereas, if we talk about List A cricket, he has taken 61 wickets in 36 matches.
