US President Donald Trump has warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that if Israel resumes large-scale military attacks against Iran, it may soon be left alone. Trump said this while talking to American media Axios. Trump told that he told Netanyahu, Bibi, be careful. If this continues, very soon you will be left alone.
Trump fears that if the fighting escalates again, efforts to reach an agreement with Iran may fail and America may also get caught in this conflict. This warning of Trump has come at a time when the conflict between Israel and Iran has increased. On Sunday, Israel attacked Hezbollah-linked targets in Lebanon’s capital Beirut. In response, Iran fired missiles at Israel. This increased the fear of a major war in the entire Middle East.
Trump hopes for an early agreement with Iran
According to the report, Trump is trying to reach an agreement with Iran. He told Netanyahu that progress could be made in talks, so further attacks should be avoided. According to American and Israeli officials, Trump was in a difficult situation. They recognize Israel’s right to self-defense, but they are also concerned that continued retaliatory attacks could escalate into a major regional war.
However, despite Trump’s displeasure, Netanyahu told the White House that Israel will take limited military action. After this Israel attacked some targets of Iran. In response, Iran again fired missiles. The US military did not take direct part in the attacks, but it helped stop the missiles coming towards Israel.
Trump-Netanyahu talk again
After tensions increased, Trump spoke to Netanyahu again on the phone and appealed to stop major attacks. According to Israeli officials, Netanyahu agreed that if Iran does not attack further, Israel will also not carry out major attacks.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu said in a televised address that Israel has stopped Iran’s potential nuclear threat and has significantly weakened Iran and Hezbollah in the past year. He claimed that Israel foiled Hezbollah’s plan for a major attack, killed its leader Hassan Nasrallah and destroyed several of the organization’s targets.
