Sharad Pawar further said that ‘If incidents like tear gas, lathi charge had been avoided while dealing with the new generation, a better message would have been sent. There was a metro to reach Jantar Mantar, but it was kept closed. This question was not limited to students only. The decision to keep the metro closed was not a wise one. The attack on students was wrong. This movement was not limited to Jantar Mantar only. I am satisfied that students from every corner of the country had come there. The young generation from every corner of Maharashtra had also reached there. Movements also took place in Pune, Mumbai and other cities. The central government will learn a lesson from this.
What did Sharad Pawar say on meeting PM Modi?
On meeting PM Modi, Sharad Pawar said, ‘I told Modi ji to start a dialogue and not use the police machinery. I think he must have paid attention to what I said. The youth power came together from every corner of the country. This was realized, hence maybe resignation was taken or the Education Minister might have resigned.
He further said that ‘among the accused in the paper leak, there is also an accused from Maharashtra, due to this we had to bow our heads. I was also told that the resignation would not be accepted, but eventually it was accepted. The opinion given by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on this is also appropriate. The central government bowed down, albeit late. The young generation of the country will not remain silent wherever injustice and atrocities take place. She will register her protest peacefully.
