The interim agreement to end the war that has been going on for almost four months between America and Iran came into effect from Thursday. After this, the movement of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz started again. America has also lifted the naval blockade imposed on Iran. After the implementation of the agreement, oil prices reached their lowest level since the start of the war on 28 February.
Experts believe that trade through this sea route, which supplies about 20% of the world’s oil and gas, may become normal in the coming months. However, many major issues are still not resolved. Fighting continues between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. On Thursday, the Israeli army carried out new air strikes in Lebanon. This is raising questions whether this agreement will last for a long time.
Did US give more concessions to Iran?
Even in America, President Donald Trump is being criticized. Some leaders of his Republican Party say that Trump has given too many concessions to Iran to end the war. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mujtaba Khamenei said that Trump has made this agreement out of compulsion. He also said that further talks on Iran’s nuclear program will not be easy. If America puts more conditions then Iran will not accept them.

Under the agreement, both countries will have to try to reach a final agreement on Iran’s nuclear program in the next 60 days. The deal also provides for a $300 billion fund and other economic relief for the reconstruction of Iran. US Vice President JD Vance said that America will also raise the issue of Iran’s long-range missiles in the talks.
When Trump started the war, his goal was to destroy Iran’s nuclear program, reduce its missile capability and stop support to regional allies. But none of these goals have been fully achieved yet.
Iran’s control over Hormuz for 60 days
Iran has said that the movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz will remain under its control for the next 60 days. He will give permits to ships and control traffic, but no fee will be charged during this period. At the same time, Trump and JD Vance have also appealed to Israel to respect the peace process and not to escalate the conflict.
