Haryanvi singer dancer Sapna Chaudhary has got relief from Delhi’s Dwarka court in the domestic violence case. The court has banned Sapna Chaudhary’s husband Yashveer Sahu from contacting and meeting Sapna Chaudhary till the next hearing. On Tuesday, the Judicial Magistrate of Dwarka Court, after hearing the arguments of lawyer Preeti Singh appearing on behalf of petitioner Sapna Chaudhary, granted immediate interim protection to actress Sapna Chaudhary under the ‘Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act’.
The Court heard the matter on an urgent basis in view of the imminent premiere of a film of the petitioner and the serious apprehension that his personal safety and professional commitments may be at risk. During the hearing, lawyer Preeti Singh made legal arguments regarding the factual circumstances, documentary evidence, urgency, balance of convenience and the irreparable loss that would be caused if immediate judicial intervention is not done.
What argument did Sapna’s lawyer give?
Dream The lawyer argued that the defendant (Sapna’s husband) would not suffer any harm from the temporary protection order. Denial of such relief may cause irreparable harm to the petitioner (Sapna Choudhary), adversely affect her dignity and safety and potentially hinder her professional work and public appearances at film premieres. The court was also informed about the persistent threat of intimidation and the need for immediate preventive security.

When will the next hearing take place?

The court has restrained the respondent from visiting or contacting the petitioner in any way, visiting her residence or workplace (including the film premiere venue), or committing any act of domestic violence till the next date of hearing, July 25. The court has also directed the concerned protection officer and the local SHO to ensure compliance with the court’s instructions and provide necessary assistance to the petitioner.
