Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar said, “About 20 Trinamool MPs, including him, have decided to write a letter to Speaker Om Birla to officially express their desire to become a part of the NDA.” Meanwhile, rebel Trinamool MP Sharmila Sarkar said, “We are forming a separate group of 20 MPs and are going to support the NDA. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar is our chief whip and Shatabdi Roy is our deputy leader.”
Claim to form separate faction in Lok Sabha presented
The move is similar to events in West Bengal, where 58 MLAs, led by Ritabrata Banerjee, have formed a group and are claiming to be the “real” Trinamool, taking a leaf out of Shiv Sena.
His complaint is against Shobhandeb Chatterjee, the party’s choice for leader of the opposition in the state assembly. The Assembly Speaker has accepted Ritabrata Banerjee for this post and has also handed over the keys of the party room to him. In this way, after the defeat in the elections, now after the Assembly, there is a split in TMC in the Lok Sabha.
