The sister of Anshul Kuncha, the 28-year-old Indian man who was shot dead in Philadelphia on Friday, has said that he never wanted to go to America, but the family sent him anyway. Anshul, a resident of Hyderabad, was allegedly called to an empty house to deliver pizza, where he was ambushed and murdered. Demanding justice, Anshul’s sister appealed to the Ministry of External Affairs to bring back her brother’s body.
He also shared a message for those parents who are thinking of sending their children to America for further studies and career. He told news agency PTI, “He did not want to go to America, but we sent him… and look what happened to him. This is a message to all the parents who are sending their children to America. Don’t send your children to America.”
He was framed – Anshul’s sister
Anshul’s sister further alleged that the incident was clearly a conspiracy to murder her brother. According to American media reports, Kuncha used to do pizza delivery work on weekends to earn extra money. He was called to deliver pizza to a vacant house in ‘Raymond Rosen Homes’, a housing complex in Philadelphia. In the CCTV footage of the Philadelphia Housing Authority, the victim can be seen leaving with the pizza. After this, two people wearing dark colored clothes and carrying backpacks were seen following him.
“It was a trap.”
“It was a trap, the aim was to kill him. I don’t know what they got out of it or what their intention was. They took my brother and killed him,” he told PTI. He further said that the family was told that he was shot three times in the head and left on the road.
