
Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) withdrew the agitation after talks with the government on NEET paper leak and resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. CJP leaders were adamant on demanding the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. In the first meeting held with CJP during the movement, the Union Ministers who were negotiating on behalf of the government had got a clear indication that it would be difficult to end the movement without the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. After the meeting, the same feedback was given to the top leadership of the party and the government.
According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi He felt that the student movement was also affecting his personal image. Before the Lok Sabha elections 2029, he did not want to send the message under any circumstances that the central government is insensitive towards the concerns of the youth. Under this strategy, the decision of resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan was taken.
Dharmendra Pradhan sent his resignation on Saturday morning
Dharmendra Pradhan was informed late on Friday night that he would have to step down. After this, he sent his resignation at around 9 am on Saturday morning.
Before the information about the resignation became public and Dharmendra Pradhan posted it on X, there was a meeting between Home Minister Amit Shah and Dharmendra Pradhan for about half an hour. The special thing was that Amit Shah himself had reached the official residence of Dharmendra Pradhan.
At present, the additional charge of the Education Ministry can be given to a senior Union Cabinet Minister. A decision on the appointment of the new Education Minister will be taken later. Amidst this entire incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ coming to Delhi for about three hours, meeting the top leadership of the party and returning without any public program is also giving rise to many discussions in the political circles. However, no official connection has been confirmed between the two incidents.
Government gave message to youth through resignation
Before the Lok Sabha elections 2029, Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not want to allow the situation of any major protest movement at the national level, especially among the youth. The government is working on a strategy to send the message that it stands with the youth and is fully committed to solving their problems.
During this time, the Prime Minister was worried about the spread of the movement in other states besides Delhi. Under this strategy, two days ago, Prime Minister Modi himself took direct initiative on the issues related to the movement. Many quick decisions related to reforms in the education system were announced so that the message goes that the government is ready for both dialogue and solution.
CJP withdrew the movement after talks
In the first meeting of CJP and Union Ministers, the government had adopted a positive stance on two of the three major demands of the movement. In the second meeting both these demands were accepted in principle. After this, the team of Union ministers told the agitators that they would consider the third demand within 24 hours and come back with a final decision.
By the time JP Nadda arrived today to talk to CJP leaders, Dharmendra Pradhan had already resigned. After this, the government moved forward with the last round of talks towards resolution of the movement and the talks were successful. After the talks, in the joint press conference, CJP announced the withdrawal of the movement.
