BJP MPs Manoj Tiwari and Ramveer Singh Bidhuri held a joint press conference on Tuesday and assured the people of Delhi coming to the O-zone on the banks of Yamuna. For several days, tension regarding demolition was increasing among the people living on the banks of Yamuna. The MPs assured that along with the Central and Delhi governments, the Delhi BJP organization is also sensitive to their concerns regarding the area declared as O Zone. Also said that BJP will not allow any ancient settled village or already regularized colony to be demolished.
MP Ramveer Singh Bidhuri said that Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today called a high-level meeting regarding the O-zone and made it clear in it that no demolition is allowed in the old settled population of the villages and 92 colonies which are currently in the O-zone. The order of Delhi High Court is only regarding new construction. He has appealed to the people of these areas not to do any new construction until a final decision is taken in this regard.
Bulldozer will not work on old settlements
MPs Manoj Tiwari, Ramveer Singh Bidhuri and Praveen Khandelwal, Yamunapar Development Board Chairman and MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely and Chief Secretary Rajiv Verma, Delhi Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar and DDA Commissioner (Planning) and Commissioner (Land Management) also attended the meeting. Ramveer Singh Bidhuri said that we thank Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for calling this high level meeting, because about 15 lakh people living in the O-zone are very restless after the order of the High Court. After the meeting the situation has now become quite clear.
Ramveer Singh Bidhuri said that in the meeting the Chief Minister was also told that these colonies were regularized only on March 24, 2008 and at that time these areas were not in O-zone but in F zone. On August 10, 2010, these areas were included in the O-zone of Yamuna by the Central and Congress governments of Delhi. When the people of these colonies protested against this, on 28 September 2013, DDA also issued a notice of draft notification to bring them from O-zone to F-zone. The draft notification had also got the approval of the then Union Urban Development Minister, but till now this notification has not been issued.
In this regard, the Principal Committee of the Government and the DDA have also done physical demarcation and the Expert Committee has also said that these villages and colonies do not have any adverse effect on the flow of the river or its quality. He said that it was also decided in the meeting that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, all the MPs will soon meet the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar regarding the O-Zone issue and will inform him about the true facts so that justice can be done to 15 lakh people.

MP Manoj Tiwari said that today we have started the entire process to remove the areas where ozone has been erroneously applied. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has worked to remove the stigma of unauthorized colonies in Delhi. Manoj Tiwari said that yesterday we met the Lieutenant Governor and today we also talked to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra. He listened to us very attentively and he has instructed both DDA and MCD that in the areas which have been kept under O-zone, no house will suffer any kind of damage, but only the new house built will have to follow the order.
Manoj Tiwari said that today if the opposition is scaring people under this O-zone issue. That is only the result of the failure of the Aam Aadmi Party in the last 10 years.
