Special Cell (NDR) of Delhi Police has achieved great success. Foiling the conspiracy of a major terrorist attack, the police have arrested 9 agents working on the instructions of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and Mumbai underworld network. These accused were conspiring to terrorize the capital Delhi. However, they were caught before that.
According to the information, the aim of the arrested accused was to carry out terrorist attacks in big cities including Delhi and Mumbai. During the investigation, it was revealed that these accused were given the responsibility of targeting important government and strategic establishments (Vital Installations) as well as security forces personnel in Delhi.
Weapons and explosives recovered
The connection of the accused caught in the preliminary investigation with Mumbai underworld has also come to light. It is being told that all of them were planning to attack India at the behest of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. The police have also recovered a large quantity of weapons from the accused. Besides this, explosives brought from Pakistan have also been recovered. Grenades and many weapons were also found from them.
Plan to attack specific places
It is being told that the arrested accused are from Delhi, Mumbai, Punjab while some people are also foreigners. The target of these people were important places of Delhi and other major cities. Possible targets included power plants, electricity generation and distribution centers, nuclear plants, airports, railway stations and other important establishments related to the energy sector. Most of these are places where there is a large crowd. It is believed that by attacking these targets, a conspiracy was being hatched to cause widespread casualties as well as disrupt the essential services of the country. Not only this, there was a plan to attack the security personnel also.
Big revelations expected in interrogation
Investigation has also revealed that the recovered explosive material was transported to India from across the border. At present the agencies are trying to find out through which network the consignment of explosives and weapons was transported within the country and who were the people behind it.
There is a possibility of many more important revelations based on the interrogation of the arrested accused. The investigating agencies are also examining their digital devices, communication channels and financial transactions to ascertain the structure, funding and foreign contacts of the entire network.
