Delhi: Important meeting between CJP and Modi government in VP House ends, discussion took place for one hour

July 24, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Amidst the issue related to paper leak and the demand for resignation of the Education Minister, an important meeting was held with representatives of the Central Government and Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Vitthal House in Delhi on Friday. The meeting lasted for about an hour. This was the second meeting between the two sides after the movement started. However, before the meeting, CJP’s Founding President Abhijit Dipke made it clear that apart from the resignation (of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan), we do not accept anything. Our protest will not end.

On behalf of Cockroach Janata Party, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka participated in the talks with the government. This meeting, to be led by Union Minister JP Nadda, was earlier to be held at the Constitution Club, but keeping in mind the security of the Union Ministers, the venue was changed to Vittus Hall. The meeting will be held in room number 504 of Vitthal House.

Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation is the only solution: Deepke

Before the talks started with the central government, Abhijit Dipke said, “This protest is of the youth of the country and it is not limited to just Sonam Wangchuk or Dipke. This protest is of the youth of the country, not of the opposition parties. If the government wants a solution to the protests, then it is only Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.”

Regarding Sonam Wangchuk ending his hunger strike, Dipke said, “I think the government had kept Wangchuk in custody. JP Nadda could have met him, but no opposition MP could meet him. We too could not meet him. I am very happy that Sonam sir has ended her hunger strike.”

Resolving issues through dialogue: Jitendra Singh

Earlier on Thursday, Union Minister Jitendra Singh appealed to the Cockroach Janata Party to come forward for another round of talks with the government. He said in his appeal that only through dialogue can the issues be resolved and the way forward can be found.

Union Minister Singh told PTI that in the last 24 hours, the government has invited CJP for talks ‘at least four times’. He said, “I want to appeal to the students and young comrades involved in this protest to come forward for talks. Our doors are open for them.” He says that this is a ‘humble appeal’ made by the government.

He told that this meeting with the representatives of the protesting students will be led by Union Health Minister and senior BJP leader Nadda.
