Hariharnath Temple Sonepur: There is the only temple in the country and the world in Sonpur, Bihar, where both Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva are present in the same Shivalinga in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. The glory of this temple is unique. The special thing is that there is a temple of Baba Hariharnath on the banks of river Gandak. There is only one Shivalinga in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, in one half of which Lord Vishnu and in the other half Lord Shiva are seated together. This is the reason why there is a constant flow of devotees here and they come from far and wide to visit the temple.
The priest of Baba Hariharnath temple says that there is a first temple in the country at the confluence of Ganga and Gandak rivers, where Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva are present in the same Shivalinga. Special arrangements made for devotees

Devotees seek blessings from Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva by worshiping them. Keeping in view the convenience of the devotees, separate barricading arrangements are made for male and female devotees in the entire Sawan temple complex so that there is no problem in performing Jalabhishek.
The security arrangements in the temple premises will be monitored by women and men police force, medical team and CCTV under the leadership of the magistrate. A grand aarti and shringar of Baba Hariharnath will be organized in the evening. For Jalabhishek in Baba Garibnath temple situated in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, hundreds of Dak, Bol Bam Kanwarias, groups of devotees first take holy Ganga water from river Ganga and then go to Baba Hariharnath temple for Jalabhishek.
There is a huge crowd of devotees even on Kartik Purnima.
Apart from Sawan, on other days there is a crowd of devotees in Baba Hariharnath temple for worship since morning. It is known that every year on the occasion of Kartik Purnima Ganga Snan, lakhs of devotees take holy bath in Ganga and Gandak rivers and perform Jalabhishek in Baba Hariharnath temple. At the same time, during the world famous Hariharkshetra Sonpur fair, tourists coming from different states of the country and abroad also get blessings by offering worship at Baba Hariharnath temple. In Sawan, there is a crowd of devotees from Patna, Chhapra, Vaishali, Siwan, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Danapur and other districts of Bihar to offer prayers.
