This athlete from Chhattisgarh got a place in the Commonwealth Games team for the first time and she performed brilliantly in her debut itself and won the silver medal. Dnyaneshwari Yadav won the silver medal by lifting a total weight of 199 kg. Dnyaneshwari lifted 88 kg weight in snatch and in clean and jerk she did wonders by lifting 111 kg weight. Dnyaneshwari Yadav is from Bhondiya village in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh. He is an Assistant Sub-Inspector in Chhattisgarh Police. His father himself was a bodybuilder but he had to leave this sport to support his family. He works as an electrician and worked hard to make his daughter a weightlifter. In an interview, Dnyaneshwari’s father Deepak Yadav had told that he worked 20-20 hours to make his children athletes.

Dnyaneshwari Yadav’s career suffered a major setback due to Covid when her father did not even have money to buy supplements for her. But Deepak Yadav bought supplements for his daughter by borrowing from his friends and relatives. Somehow Dnyaneshwari continued her training and diet.
