  • According to Indian time, this eclipse will start at 06:53 am on August 28.
  • This lunar eclipse will end at 12:32 pm.

This lunar eclipse will not be visible in India, because at the time of lunar eclipse it will be day in India.

Lunar eclipse will not affect Rakshabandhan

Rakshabandhan festival will be celebrated in India only on 28th August. Since no effect of this eclipse will be visible in India. Because of this, it will not cast any negative shadow on the festival of Rakshabandhan nor will there be any hindrance. On this day, sisters can tie Rakhi on the wrist of their brothers without hesitation as usual after seeing the auspicious time.

Even Sutak period will not be effective

According to the scriptures, the Sutak period of the lunar eclipse starts just 09 hours before the eclipse begins, but according to religious rules, the effect of the Sutak period occurs only when the eclipse is visible. Since this lunar eclipse occurring on August 28 will be completely invisible in India, the Sutak period of the lunar eclipse will not be effective here.

This lunar eclipse will be completely visible mainly in the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Europe, Africa and some parts of America.
