Cases registered against protesters in Bihar will be withdrawn…will be released soon

Bihar government has taken a big decision in matters related to the student movement and recent demonstrations. The Home Department has issued instructions to release the arrested protesters and start the process of withdrawing the FIRs, complaints and notices registered against them. The government has also said that no new punitive or retaliatory action will be taken against anyone associated with the movement that took place till 6 pm on July 26, 2026.

This decision of the government is being considered an important step amid recent student movements and political pressure. Now the administrative process of release and return of cases will be started in the respective districts. This announcement has been made by the Special Secretary of the Home Department of the Government of Bihar. The government says that in order to bring transparency in the examination system and protect the interests of the students, it thinks it is better to adopt the path of dialogue and solution instead of taking strict measures. This decision of the government has brought great relief to the protesting students and their families.

However, the government has also clarified that this relief will not apply to incidents occurring after 6 pm on July 26, 2026. The government said that action can be taken if necessary to maintain law and order.
