June 7, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Xiaomi has quietly increased the price of its premium tablet Xiaomi Pad 8 in India. All variants of this tablet, launched in March 2026, have now become costlier by Rs 2,000 than before. The new prices have also been updated on the company’s official website. Xiaomi Pad 8 is known for its powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, 144Hz display and large battery. In such a situation, the customers who were planning to buy this tablet will now have to spend more money than before.

How much is the price of Xiaomi Pad 8 now?

After the price increase, the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant of Xiaomi Pad 8 is now available for Rs 35,999, whereas at the time of launch its price was Rs 33,999. Whereas the price of 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model has increased from Rs 36,999 to Rs 38,999. If customers buy this variant with Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro, then now they will have to spend Rs 43,999. The price of 12GB + 256GB model with Nano Texture display has also increased from Rs 38,999 to Rs 40,999. Focus Pen Pro Bundle of this variant is now available for Rs 45,999. These new prices have been implemented on the company’s website.

What could be the reason for the price increase?

Although Xiaomi has not given any official reason behind increasing the price, but according to reports, global chip shortage and increase in component costs could be the major reasons for this. In recent months, the impact of rising productivity costs has been seen on the smartphone and tablet industry. Last month, companies like OnePlus, Poco and Lava also increased the prices of some of their devices in India. In such a situation, it is believed that Xiaomi has also taken this decision considering the current market conditions. In the coming time, its effect may also be visible on the prices of other electronic devices.

Features still make it a premium tablet

Xiaomi Pad 8 has an 11.2-inch 3.2K display, which supports 144Hz refresh rate and 800 nits peak brightness. This tablet runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and has Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. The device has up to 12GB LPDDR5T RAM and up to 256GB UFS 4.1 storage. For photography, it has a 13 megapixel rear camera and 8 megapixel front camera. 45W fast charging support is available with 9,200mAh battery. Apart from this, it can also be converted into a productivity device like laptop through quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support, Focus Pen Pro support and keyboard accessories.
