In the letter issued by the party, it has been said that the Congress President has appointed Hariprasad as the President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee with immediate effect. The party appreciates the contributions of outgoing president DK Shivakumar.
Actually, DK Shivakumar took oath as the 25th Chief Minister of Karnataka today. He organized the party while working as Karnataka Congress President for 6 consecutive years. He also played an important role in bringing the party to power in 2023. Now he has got the fruits of this as the Chief Minister of the state. Therefore Shivkumar has resigned from the post of president. Has sent his resignation letter to AICC President Mallikarju Kharge.

DK Shivakumar became KPCC President on 2 July 2020. However, the initial phase of becoming KPCC president was not easy for him. When he took over the reins of KPCC, the atmosphere was not comfortable. This was the period of Covid crisis. Earlier, he was also accused of illegal money laundering. CBI and ED investigation was going on. After returning from jail, as per the instructions of AICC, he was given the post of KPCC President.

Despite these challenges, DK gave a new dimension to KPCC. He organized attention-grabbing programs. The party organization was successful in controlling the workers and attracting the workers to office.
