Bihar Bandh News: The ‘Bihar Bandh’ called by AISA and other student organizations in protest against the NEET Paper Leak issue and the punitive action taken against the students protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi had a mixed and violent impact at many places. In many districts of the state, fierce protesters took to the streets and targeted police forces, officials and media persons, while at some places girl students also registered peaceful protests in a unique way.
The situation was calm at Ramesh Chowk in Aurangabad till 11:30 am, but suddenly at 12 noon a large number of students gathered. The protesters blocked one lane of the road and raised slogans against the Central Government and the Education Minister. The situation worsened when the angry mob broke the police barricades and started pelting stones by throwing coconut pieces and other items. In response, the police fired teargas shells and used mild force. In this violence, Havaldar Mohd. Matloob Ali, Dainik Jagran journalist Manish Tiwari and Mohd. A youth named Rizwan was injured, who was discharged from the hospital after first aid.
Bhagalpur: Stones pelted on DM and SSP’s vehicle.
In the name of student protest in Bhagalpur, miscreants created a huge ruckus from Tilkamanjhi Chowk to Kachari Chowk. When stopped by the police, the angry youth attacked with bricks and stones. Miscreants attacked a journalist of a channel. Also, 5-6 vehicles of police and common citizens were completely damaged. The vehicles of District Magistrate Alankrita Pandey and SSP Pramod Kumar Yadav who reached the spot were also pelted with stones. After this, the police took charge and chased away the miscreants from Tilkamanjhi to Manali Chowk and Collectorate and detained many people.
Patna: Police vehicles overturned at Ramgulam Chowk
There was a heated argument between the bandh supporters and the police in the capital Patna. At Ramgulam Chowk, miscreants covering their faces with towels and masks vandalized several police vehicles and overturned them. There was a clash between police and AISA workers between Dak Bungalow intersection and Patna Junction, after which the police used force to disperse the protesters. Meanwhile, former minister Tej Pratap Yadav also reached Gandhi Maidan and supported the students’ movement and raised the demand for the resignation of the Union Education Minister.
Jehanabad: District on high alert
After stone pelting, aerial firing and violent clashes at the DM residence in Jehanabad a day earlier, the entire city turned into a police camp on Friday. Magadh region’s IG Vikas Vaibhav himself inspected the sensitive places and gave necessary instructions to the police officers. Under the leadership of SP, heavy police force remained deployed at intersections and government buildings, so that any major untoward incident could be prevented during the bandh.
Samastipur: Arson by blocking NH
In Samastipur, AISA and RYA workers, under the leadership of District Secretary Sunil Kumar, completely stopped the traffic by setting fire to the Samastipur-Patna main road and the National Highway near Tajpur. During the protest, there was a heated argument, scuffle and scuffle between the police and student leaders, the video of which is going viral on social media. The protesters were demanding the release of the arrested workers and cancellation of the New Education Policy (NEP).
Madhepura: Police detained one and a half dozen students
Under the banner of various student organizations in Madhepura, students T.P. They gathered near the college and were going out to surround the collectorate. The police force deployed at College Chowk under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Officer (SDM) Santosh Kumar and SDPO Pravendra Bharti stopped them by barricading. Police detained about one and a half dozen student leaders who were forcibly trying to move forward and sent them to Sadar police station.

Darbhanga: Girl students tied rakhi and gave flowers to security personnel
While on one hand there was an atmosphere of violence in the entire state, on the other hand in Darbhanga the girl students adopted a very unique and peaceful method of protest. The students involved in the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ which was taken out from Karpuri Chowk to Laheriasarai Tower had the national flag, flower plates and rakhis in their hands. Under the leadership of student Swati, the protesters tied Raksha Sutra on the wrists of the police personnel ready for security and presented flowers to give the message that their movement is for the improvement of the education system and not for disturbance.
Condition of Bettiah, Shivhar and Hajipur
After a heated argument between the 3,000-strong protesters gathered in Bettiah and the police, bricks and stones started being pelted, in response to which the police dispersed the crowd by lathicharge. On the instructions of SP Shailendra Singh, the police took 9 persons into custody in Sheohar on charges of sharing inflammatory posts on social media and conspiring to influence law and order. On the instructions of Vaishali SP Shubhank Mishra, alert continued in the city. Under the leadership of Sadar SDPO Subodh Kumar, the police conducted a flag march in the entire city with anti-riot vehicles and kept the situation completely under control.
