
White House Artificial Intelligence Policy Advisor Sriram Krishnan announced on Saturday that he will leave his post at the end of June. This marks the departure of a key person who played an important role in making policies for cutting-edge technologies. Krishnan wrote on social media platform He did not give the reason for leaving the post.
Krishnan has been involved in the Trump administration’s efforts to create a national framework to regulate the development of AI, amid growing security concerns in Washington over powerful new systems. For example, Anthropic’s Mythos has reportedly demonstrated the ability to expose cybersecurity vulnerabilities in computer systems such as banks.
Sriram Krishnan’s deep connection with India
Sriram Krishnan is an American citizen, although he has deep connections with India. He was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He studied engineering from SRM University, Chennai and moved to America in 2007. Later he worked in big tech companies like Microsoft, Yahoo, Facebook, X and Step. In 2016 he acquired American citizenship. His wife Aarti Ramamurthy is also of Indian origin.
Privilege to serve the American people
Krishnan wrote on X that I will leave my role in the White House at the end of this month. After a break, I’ll be working to help address the biggest AI challenges facing America. It is difficult to express how great a privilege it has been to serve the American people and how grateful I am for the opportunity to do so.
