Senior BJP leader and former Union Education Minister Murli Manohar Joshi on Friday welcomed Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation and called it a late but necessary step amid the ongoing controversy over NEET paper leak. Dharmendra Reacting to Pradhan’s resignation, Joshi wrote on social site X, “Better late than never. Dharmendra Pradhan has tendered his resignation. I hope the Prime Minister will also take a decision immediately and on time.”

The former Education Minister further said, “I hope that peace will soon be established in the world of Indian education and the youth will get ample opportunities for their bright future and progress.”

Pradhan resigned in view of the protests over the NEET paper leak and the increasing political pressure on the government. The Center later held talks with the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), which announced that it would withdraw its agitation after the government accepted several of its key demands, including assurance of compensation, withdrawal of FIRs against the protesters and discussion on large-scale education and examination reforms.
Pradhan resigns, Prahlad Joshi gets responsibility
Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from the post of Union Education Minister on Saturday amid the ongoing protests over NEET paper leak. In a letter, Pradhan said that he has sent his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in view of the current situation related to students.
In the letter posted on X, he said, “I have taken responsibility for the NEET paper leak from day one.” The letter read, “This has never been a matter of personal honor” for him. In his resignation letter, Pradhan said he was stepping down in the larger interest of students to ensure that the youth of the country “do not fall into the trap of confusion.”
The letter read, “To ensure that anti-national elements do not benefit from the situation prevailing in Jantar Mantar and the entire country, the country remains united, students in India do not get entangled in legal troubles and focus on their studies and their career, I have tendered my resignation to the Prime Minister.” Later President Draupadi Mummu accepted his resignation and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi was given the additional charge of the Education Ministry.
