After Israel, France has created a mess on the temporary agreement between Iran and America. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot says that the deal will be valid only when France is satisfied with it. Barot said that without us there cannot be any change in the UN. France also needs to be included in this deal. Our issues cannot be ignored through the deal.
This statement of Barot has come at a time when iran deal But Israel has created a hurdle. Due to the Israeli attack on Lebanon, the meeting between America and Iran regarding peace talks in Switzerland has been cancelled.
What is France’s demand?
Speaking to news agency Francisco, Barrot said that there is a need for large-scale talks for peace in the Middle East. According to Barrot, unless the issue of Iran’s ballistic missile program and support to proxy organizations is included in the US talks with Iran, there cannot be peace in that area.
Barrot said that there is a need to include France in this dialogue. Only then can discussions be held in an impartial manner. He further said that if France is not satisfied with the conditions, then in the future it will impose a veto in the UN Council. France is also a permanent member of the UN.
Why is France’s opposition important?
Under the deal, America has assured Iran that the sanctions imposed against it by the UN will be removed. After the sanctions are lifted, Iran will be able to trade freely. He will be able to get money from banks. However, France has opposed it.
French Foreign Minister Barrot says that we will impose a veto, due to which it is not easy to remove the ban. If any permanent member of the UN uses the veto, the proposal may get stuck. This is the reason why France’s opposition is being considered important.
US stance regarding missiles
When US President Donald Trump was asked why Iran’s missile manufacturing was not banned, he replied – “That would be injustice. Iran’s neighboring countries, like Saudi Arabia and Turkey, also have weapons. We cannot weaken Iran’s position.”
Trump further said- Iran does not have any ballistic missile yet. If he wants to make them, then make them. I have no problem with this. I cannot jeopardize the sovereignty of any country.
