After Bengal, Amit Shah’s mission in Punjab… Strategy ready, know how BJP will show its strength

June 9, 2026 by Uma Shankar

After Bengal, now Union Home Minister Amit Shah has joined Mission Punjab. This month Amit Shah is going to call a big meeting of Punjab BJP leaders. In which the election strategy of Punjab will be implemented. Also in this meeting, the journey against drugs in Punjab will be finalized. This time BJP has decided that it will contest the elections alone without forming an alliance with Akali Dal. Under which BJP will field its candidates on all 117 seats in the state. The party has launched a campaign to go directly to villages and farmers’ homes.

The party is running a Panna Pramukh campaign to strengthen the organization which includes appointment and training of Panna Pramukhs at the booth level. The Rajya Sabha tenure of Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu is ending on June 21. The party has decided not to send him to Rajya Sabha again. According to sources, he will resign from the Council of Ministers before June 21. After that the party will activate him in Punjab. He will also contest the assembly elections. However, the party will not declare anyone as the chief ministerial face.

BJP busy in convincing angry leaders

BJP is leaving no stone unturned in convincing the angry leaders of Punjab. Angered by making Kewal Singh Dhillon the president, Captain Amarinder Singh came to Delhi and met Amit Shah. After this he rejected the news of his displeasure. Party General Secretary Dr. Jagmohan Raju is also angry who has resigned. The party leadership is also talking to him. In the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP could not win any seat in Punjab. Although he got 18.56 percent votes.

Strategy prepared from Lok Sabha election data

According to the data of 2024 Lok Sabha elections, BJP came first in 23 assembly seats. Its defeat on five seats was by less than five thousand votes and on ten seats it was by less than ten thousand votes. In this way, BJP registered a strong presence in 38 out of 117 seats in the state in the last Lok Sabha elections, which is only 21 seats away from the majority figure of 59. BJP sees its potential in these figures.

Instructions to increase presence in rural areas and towns

The party believes that its presence is good in urban areas. But instructions have been given to the workers to increase their presence in rural areas and Pindas. BJP also has hopes from the four-cornered contest in the state. Party strategists say that the margin of victory or defeat in this contest is very less and in such a situation, BJP can come closer to victory by expanding its support base.
