Internal crisis continues in Mamata Banerjee’s party. Many big leaders are leaving the party one after the other. Now Trinamool Congress (TMC) State Minority Cell Secretary Ajmal Siddiqui informed about his resignation from the party on Saturday. Siddiqui said that he took this decision because of the internal working of the party and the influence of its leadership. He also accused TMC Lok Sabha MP Abhishek Banerjee of adopting a ‘dictatorial attitude’. Ajmal Siddiqui has resigned from TMC. He said the party was a cause of ‘infamy’ and accused several leaders of being involved in ‘wrongdoings’.
He told that I had returned from Haj pilgrimage only two days ago. After returning, I decided that this party is only bringing defamation. Most of its members are involved in wrongdoings. Scams keep coming to light and more scams may come to light in the future. It was very uncomfortable for us to be in this party and it was not doing any real work for the people.

‘Abhishek is responsible for the poor condition of the party’
Siddiqui held Abhishek Banerjee responsible for this condition of the party. He said that the party is disintegrating today because of only one person and that is only Abhishek Banerjee. Because of their dictatorial attitude we are facing this oppression. 12 or 13 years ago, false cases were registered against us, money was demanded. All this was unbearable.
When asked about his future political plans and whether he would consider joining BJP, Siddiqui said that his priority is only the development of West Bengal. He said that we have not thought about that yet. Our only wish is to see development in Bengal. Industries should be established and the poor should get jobs.
TMC’s crisis deepens
A month after losing power in West Bengal and just days after 58 rebel MLAs took over their legislature party, TMC is facing one of the biggest challenges in its history.
