On Sunday afternoon, June 7, three A320 aircraft of Air India parked at Terminal 2 of Delhi Airport were damaged due to bad weather and strong winds. Due to the wind, ground equipment flew and collided with the parked aircraft, after which the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has started investigating the incident. According to DGCA, this incident happened on June 7 at around 4:30 pm.
According to the information, two ground-use equipment kept in nearby stands and surrounding areas got displaced from their place due to the wind and collided with two different aircraft, causing damage at many places. The third aircraft was damaged when foreign object debris (FOD) struck its right side sliding window. All three planes have been stopped from flying for the time being for inspection and repair. All three aircraft will now be inspected and maintained.
