Haridwar News: A very shocking incident has come to light from Jwalapur, a suburban area of the pilgrimage city of Haridwar in Uttarakhand. There was a stir in Sarai village here when a large number of baby snakes were found crawling in the water tank of a family. Not just one or two, but 27 baby snakes were roaming together inside the tank. Whoever saw this horrifying scene lost his senses and within no time an atmosphere of panic was created in the entire area.
According to the information received, the household members were using water from the tank to carry out their daily work. Meanwhile, the eyes of a member of the house suddenly went inside the water tank. When he looked carefully inside the tank, the ground slipped beneath his feet. Dozens of small snakes were crawling in the tank. Suddenly seeing such a large number of snakes, the whole family started trembling with fear. Within a few minutes, this news spread like wildfire in the entire locality and a huge crowd of villagers gathered at the spot to see the snakes.
Quick response team of forest department conducted rescue operation
The panicked family immediately informed the forest department about this strange incident. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the Quick Response Team (QRT) of the Forest Department immediately reached the spot. Expert snake catchers Talib and Bhola also reached there along with the team. Both of them started the rescue operation with utmost care and wisdom. After a lot of hard work, all the 27 snake babies were taken out safely one by one from the water tank, after which the family heaved a sigh of relief.
The female snake was looking for a safe place due to the heat
Explaining the reason for this unique incident, Forest Department Range Officer Sheeshpal Singh said that as the heat increases, wild animals move towards residential areas in search of cool, humid and safe places. He expressed the possibility that a female snake might have laid eggs inside this water tank in search of a cool place. After hatching from the eggs, they were living inside the same tank for several days.
These snakes of ‘keelback’ species are not poisonous, video goes viral
Forest officials clarified that all the rescued snakes belong to the ‘Keelback’ species. In common parlance, they are also called ‘water snakes’. This species is mostly found around ponds, rivers, canals and water sources and these snakes are not considered poisonous or dangerous for humans.
The Forest Department has appealed to the local people that if they see any snake or wild creature in or around their house, then do not panic or harm them, but immediately inform the Forest Department. Currently, this unique video of 27 snakes coming out of a water tank is going viral on social media.
