July 19, 2026 by Uma Shankar

After being removed from the post of SDM from Jalaun tehsil of Uttar Pradesh, 2023 batch IAS officer Rinku Singh Rahi has written a letter to the Appointment and Personnel Department of UP. In which he has raised serious questions on his current deployment and functioning. In the letter, he said that the work on the post of SDM Judicial is only about 4 hours per day, in such a situation, if the government thinks it right, then he should be given only half the salary.

Rinku Singh Rahi has also mentioned the names of Uttar Pradesh government cabinet minister Swatantra Dev Singh and BJP MLA Gauri Shankar Verma in his 5-page letter. He said that in front of MLA Gauri Shankar, the DM had ordered that no action should be taken in cases of illegal encroachment and encroachment in Jalaun tehsil area.

‘A conspiracy was hatched to stop the investigation’

He said that a conspiracy was hatched to stop the impartial investigation into the illegal occupation taking place in the name of Cabinet Minister Swatantra Dev Singh. He said that a controversial conspiracy was created over the cold storage of block chief Ramraja Niranjan, a close relative of the minister.

‘Transfered without investigation’

Rinku Singh Rahi said that without the report of the committee formed to investigate this entire controversy, he was hastily transferred from the post of SDM Jalaun to the post of SDM Judicial. Along with this, he also alleged that DM Jalaun’s public darshan is just a show. He said that in Janata Darshan, instead of solving the basic problems of the people, only immediate solutions are given.

Offered half salary

In his letter, Rinku Singh, along with being given half the salary, requested to work as per rules in any other tehsil or any other district of Jalaun. Along with this, he also requested the Appointment and Personnel Department that if not in Uttar Pradesh, then he should be sent to some other state where there should not be any kind of administrative or political hindrance in implementing good governance as per the written system and constitutional values.

He said that till the final decision is taken, he is deciding to take half the salary as per his work from July 22, 2026. He requested that this decision should not be considered as indiscipline but should be accepted in good faith.
