Trust General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Dr. Anil Mishra have resigned in the Ram Temple offering theft case. His resignation was accepted at the trust meeting earlier this month. Now the details of what both of them had written in their resignation have come to light.
In the resignation letter, the incident of theft, the initial action of the Trust, the return of Rs 81 lakh, the recommendation of SIT investigation and the entire reason for leaving the post of both of them have been given. It has also been said in the letter that some responsible people also gave meaningless and unrestrained statements, which further increased the controversy. According to the resignation letter, during the counting of donation boxes on the night of June 4, a trustee got information about theft by 5-6 youths. On the morning of June 5, CCTV footage was examined, in which some youths were claimed to have been identified.
What about the resignation of Champat Rai-Anil Mishra?
According to the letter, instead of registering an FIR immediately, it was decided to first interrogate the youth concerned. It was claimed that between the night of June 5 and June 8, the accused youths and their families returned a total of Rs 81 lakh to the Trust.
According to the resignation letter, all the people concerned accepted the theft and also gave written acceptance letters. It was said in the letter that as the discussion on the matter increased, the Trust requested the Uttar Pradesh government to conduct an investigation by SIT, so that the truth of the entire episode can come out.
According to the letter, the state government accepted the request and started the SIT investigation from June 15. In the resignation letter, Champat Rai and Anil Mishra wrote that they are keeping themselves away from all the work of the Trust till they regain their sanity, this letter should be accepted as our resignation letter.
New SIT formed on the orders of Supreme Court
The UP government has formed a new SIT to investigate the theft of Ram temple offerings. This has been done following the strictness of the Supreme Court. The command of this new SIT team has been given to Lucknow Range IG Kiran S.
Apart from this, Ayodhya DIG Somen Verma and SSP Dr. Gaurav Grover have also been included in this team. SIT has been reconstituted after the Supreme Court’s order of July 13. This order was given by the bench headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant.
