
These days, Gupt Navratri of Ashadh month is being celebrated with devotion and faith in the world famous Shaktipeeth Shri Naina Devi. During Gupt Navratri, a large number of devotees from all the states including Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi are reaching the court of Mother Shri Naina Devi and offering prayers. By participating in the Havan-Yagya, devotees are praying for the happiness, prosperity and auspicious life of their families.
Neelam Sharma, senior priest of the temple, said that a total of four Navratri are celebrated throughout the year, in which apart from Chaitra and Shardiya Navratri, two Gupt Navratri falling in Shukla Paksha of Ashadha and Magh month are also included. He said that Gupt Navratras have special religious significance.
He told that these Navratras are called secret Navratras because in ancient times, sages and sages had kept these Navratras secret for their sadhana, worship and tantric achievements. With time, their importance reached the common people and now a large number of devotees also do special worship of Goddess Bhagwati during these Navratras.
‘Wishes are fulfilled by worshiping’
Senior priest told that during Gupt Navratri, special puja, recitation of Durga Saptashati, havan and religious rituals are organized in the court of Mother Shri Naina Devi. Devotees seek the blessings of Mata Rani by offering offerings in the ancient Havan Kund located in the temple premises. Devotees say that by visiting and worshiping the Goddess in the court of Gupt Navratri, the wishes are fulfilled and one gets the blessings of happiness, peace and prosperity in life. With this faith, every day a large number of devotees are reaching the court of Mother Shri Naina Devi to pay their obeisance.
