
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde along with his 6 new MPs met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the residence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Tuesday. The meeting between the two leaders lasted for about an hour. At the end of the meeting, BJP national president Nitin Naveen and BL Santosh also attended. It is being told that during the meeting, the Home Minister assured that the development works in the parliamentary constituencies of these 6 Shiv Sena MPs will get momentum.
Apart from Shiv Sena chief and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, 6 MPs from his party Shiv Sena (UBT) also attended the meeting with Amit Shah. Three weeks after Uddhav Thackeray left the party, these MPs along with Shinde met senior BJP leaders in New Delhi.
The meeting focused on development works
After meeting Home Minister Shah, Eknath Shinde said, “Our 6 MPs were there along with Amit Shah. They held a meeting with us. The discussion during the meeting focused on development work in their constituencies.” Shiv Sena parliamentary party leader MP Shrikant Shinde was also present in this meeting.
Sources say that during the meeting, there was a discussion on expediting the pending development works in the parliamentary constituencies of these 6 MPs who have joined Shiv Sena. On behalf of the MPs, Amit Shah was requested to expedite the central government schemes, necessary financial assistance and infrastructure development works.
Will not allow reduction in central assistance: Shah
During the meeting, Amit Shah assured all the MPs that there will be no reduction in funds or any other kind of assistance from the Central Government for public welfare schemes and development works in their parliamentary constituencies.
Regarding the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde said, “It has rained today, the monsoon session will be good.”
This is Eknath Shinde’s first visit to Delhi after Operation Tiger. Shinde’s visit took place at a time when the discussion about reshuffle in the Union Cabinet is in full swing in the political circles. Of the nine Lok Sabha MPs from the Thackeray-led party, six – Sanjay Jadhav (Parbhani), Sanjay Deshmukh (Yavatmal), Sanjay Dina Patil (Mumbai North East), Nagesh Patil-Ashtikar (Hingoli), Omprakash Rajenimbalkar (Dharashiv) and Bhausaheb Wakchore (Shirdi) had joined the Shinde-led Shiv Sena on June 22 last month.
