Sawan 2026: The favorite month of Shiva devotees is starting from tomorrow, note down the right time of worship.

Sawan 2026 Date:The holy month of Saavan dedicated to Lord Shiva is starting from tomorrow i.e. 30th July 2026. In Hindu religion, Sawan is considered to be the most favorite month of Bholenath. Throughout this month, Shiva devotees worship Lord Shiva, offer water and milk to Shivalinga, chant Mahamrityunjaya Mantra and Om Namah Shivay. It is believed that by worshiping Lord Shiva with true heart in Saavan, Lord Shiva becomes pleased and fulfills the wishes of the devotees. Which time of the morning is auspicious for worship in Saavan?

Morning time is considered very auspicious for worshiping Lord Shiva in Sawan. Especially in Brahma Muhurta, there is a tradition of worship, meditation and chanting mantras. This time is sometime before sunrise. Generally the time between 4 am to 5:30 am is considered to be the time of Brahma Muhurta. Even if devotees cannot go to the temple at this time, they can meditate on Lord Shiva, chanting Om Namah Shivay at this time is also considered auspicious.

Evening Pradosh period is also special for puja

Apart from the morning, the evening Pradosh period of Sawan is also considered special for the worship of Lord Shiva. There is a tradition of doing Shiva puja, aarti and donating lamps during this time starting around sunset. Normally this time is between 7 pm to 9 pm. There is a religious belief that by worshiping Lord Shiva during Pradosh period, devotees get special blessings. At this time, it is considered auspicious to offer water to Shivalinga, light a lamp and perform aarti of Lord Shiva. Many devotees go to Shiva temple and worship during this period, while some people meditate and worship Lord Shiva at home.

Special importance of Monday in Sawan

Monday in the month of Sawan is considered dedicated to Lord Shiva. On this day, Shiva devotees observe fast and perform Jalabhishek of Shivalinga. Many devotees wake up early in the morning and go to Shiva temple after taking bath. Along with offering water to Shivalinga on Monday of Sawan, there is also a tradition of offering Belpatra, milk and flowers. After this, Shiv Chalisa is recited or Om Namah Shivay is chanted. There is a religious belief that by observing fast on Sawan Monday and worshiping Lord Shiva, wishes are fulfilled.
