
Today (Sunday, July 26) is the 136th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’. During this he addressed the nation. On this occasion, the PM first mentioned Kargil Vijay Diwas and saluted the brave soldiers of the country. He said that despite difficult challenges, Indian soldiers did not give up and led the country to victory.
The PM said that there are some dates which do not require looking at the calendar to remember. He said that today 26th July is one such date. Today is Kargil Vijay Diwas, this day fills us with pride. He said that this day reminds us of the amazing courage of our brave soldiers.
‘India is becoming self-reliant in the defense sector…’
Along with this, PM Modi mentioned indigenous defense technology, water conservation and Catch the Rain campaign in his address. He said that India is becoming self-reliant in the defense sector. INS Mahendragiri and Pinaka missile are examples of this. He said that INS Mahendragiri modern warship has been designed in India and more than 75 percent indigenous material has been used in it. The PM said that this is a symbol of the growing power of self-reliant India. At the same time, a campaign is being run across the country for water conservation and 4 thousand ponds have been built in Madhya Pradesh. He said that India is continuously moving towards new heights.
‘Agreement for BrahMos and Astra missiles’
PAA said that earlier this month he was in Indonesia where a major agreement has been signed for BrahMos and Astra missiles. He said that the world’s confidence in India’s defense equipment and technology is increasing. The PM said that along with the courage of its soldiers, India is also continuously strengthening its technical capability.
‘The country is continuously doing well in sports’
Referring to sports, PM Modi said that the country is continuously doing well in sports. He said that the Commonwealth Games have started in Glasgow a few days ago and the whole country is encouraging the Indian players. He said that PV Sindhu has become the first Indian to win the Japan Open. He said that our women’s team had won the first women’s test by 200 runs. Along with this, the PM praised a female teacher from Ernakulam, Kerala, who is teaching Sanskrit to children through the rules of football and incidents of matches.
PM mentioned Catch the Rain campaign
In his address, PM Modi also mentioned the Catch the Rain campaign. He said that its purpose is to stop the water from falling wherever it falls. He said that a special campaign was launched for this on July 4. He said that 4 thousand ponds have been built in Madhya Pradesh, while many states including Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh also took part in this campaign. He said that every drop of water saved today is an asset for the future.
‘Successful launch of Vikram-1 is a matter of pride for the country’
Along with this, PM Modi said that the successful launch of Vikram-1 last Sunday was a moment of pride for every Indian. He said that we all witnessed this historic moment of India’s space sector. He said that this is India’s first rocket developed by the private sector. He said that our young innovators have done what once seemed almost impossible. The PM said that he demonstrated his extraordinary skill, passion and patience.
