July 28, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi spoke on phone to an injured student after allegations of use of AK-47 on protesting students in Bihar. Rahul Gandhi inquired about the well-being of injured Akash Yadav and assured him that he will stand strongly with him in this fight for the rights and justice of the students, from the streets to the Parliament. Rahul said that the government cannot suppress the voice of students with sticks and AK-47 bullets. This fight for justice, education and students’ rights will continue under any circumstances.

In fact, on Tuesday, NSUI National President Vinod Jakhar went to meet Akash Yadav, a student injured in police firing during a peaceful protest against paper leak in Patna, where he inquired about Akash’s well-being and then got the student talking to Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul made a scathing attack on the government

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Modi government over allegations of use of AK-47 rifles against protesting students in Bihar and demanded PM Modi to apologize to the students and take action against those responsible for the alleged attacks. He accused the Center of betraying the students, saying it used force to suppress the protests instead of failing to honor its assurances.

Accused of firing AK-47 at protesting students

While posting on the social media platform X (Twitter), Rahul had written that ‘the entire system is sheer murder against the students. There are reports that AK-47 bullets have been fired on protesting students in Bihar and hundreds have been arrested and FIRs have been registered. Modi ji, what happened to the promise you had made that no FIR would be registered against the students and they would be released? Instead, they are being subjected to deadly attacks and brutality.

Referring to the recent protests over the paper leak, Rahul said that ‘pellet guns were used on students in Delhi and AK-47 in Bihar. Be it Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar or Delhi, the same pattern is seen everywhere. I have said it earlier also, this government is dishonest. It is beyond its capacity to improve. It will go back on its promises and use every trick to suppress the voice of the students.
