Royal Challengers Bangalore won the IPL 2026 title and Rajat Patidar’s team became IPL champion for the second consecutive time. In this final played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru won the title on the basis of excellent spells by fast bowlers including Rasikh Salam and then Virat Kohli’s unbeaten half-century. However, on the way, an award came to Gujarat’s account and this award was given to the team’s fast bowler Kagiso Rabada, who won the Purple Cap by taking the maximum 29 wickets in this season. He defeated RCB star Bhuvneshwar Kumar by a margin of just 1 wicket.
While in the final there was a race for the title between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans, there was also a race for taking the most wickets between Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kagiso Rabada. Rabada was ahead by one wicket in this race. Before this final, he had taken 28 wickets in 16 matches, while Bhuvneshwar was in second place with 27 wickets in 15 matches. In such a situation, this race could have gone in favor of any bowler.
