Protest continues at Jantar Mantar on paper leak issue. Social activist Sonam Wangchuk has also ended her hunger strike after assurance of strict action against the culprits in the case. Before Sonam ended the strike, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself had become active on this issue. In the last 24 hours, the PM tried to make it clear through his two messages that the government is taking the entire matter seriously.
In the matter related to paper leak, PM Modi announced late on Thursday night that a bill will be presented in Parliament next week, in which strict provisions will be included against paper leaks. In his video message of about 3 minutes, PM Modi said that the draft of the bill will be discussed in the Union Cabinet meeting to be held on Friday, in which the proposed law will be finalized.

He also said, “The Cabinet will discuss the issue of paper leak on Friday and further action will be decided based on the suggestions of Cabinet colleagues.” He also said that when the second week of the monsoon session of Parliament starts on Monday, a bill will be brought with provisions for strict action in cases related to paper leaks and we will also try to get it passed as soon as possible.

Describing paper leak as a big problem, PM Modi said that he knows that paper leak is not a small problem. Such incidents are very painful for lakhs of students and their parents. Therefore, ever since the cases of NEET paper leak have come to light (about two and a half months ago), many strict steps have been taken.
PM Modi announces fast track courts
Talking about strict action against the culprits related to the case, PM Modi said, “The culprits have been caught. They are now in jail. Our big responsibility was to ensure that the students’ year is not wasted. In such a situation, it became necessary to conduct the examination as soon as possible. Using all the resources, the government decided that 22 lakh students can appear in the examination again.”
Earlier on Thursday morning, while speaking for the first time on the paper leak issue, PM Modi had said on social media platform X, “The interest of the youth and their future is our biggest priority.” He also said, “In all cases related to paper leak, fast track courts will be formed to give strict punishment to the culprits as soon as possible and for speedy disposal of the cases. Necessary instructions have also been given in this regard.”

He also said in a strict tone that anyone playing with the future of the youth will not be spared.
PM’s post regarding Sonam Wangchuk
Apart from this, social activist Sonam Wangchuk was on hunger strike for 26 days in the paper leak case and after getting assurance from the government, she ended her fast last night. 2 Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh reached Medanta Hospital in Gurugram late on Thursday night to meet Wangchuk. Both the ministers gave assurance to Wangchuk on behalf of the government. Then he ended the fast.

After Wangchuk ended his fast, PM Modi said through social media, “I request Sonam to follow the advice of doctors and bring her weight back to its previous state, I pray that she remains healthy.”
