Purnia’s independent MP Pappu Yadav reached the Parliament premises in a unique style on Tuesday in protest against the NEET paper leak and police action against students. He had a bandage on his head, a bandage on one hand and a big stick in his hand. Everyone was surprised to see this picture of him in the Parliament complex. The security personnel stopped him from entering the Parliament House with sticks, after which he while talking to the media said that this was not an accident but his symbolic protest against the police action against the students.
Pappu Yadav said, ‘I am carrying a stick for my safety. Don’t know when this government will get whom killed. I have come to Parliament in this form to protest against the way students are being treated in Bihar today. He alleged that excessive force was used to crush the students’ movement in Bihar. He claimed that even AK-47s were used on the students. He said that the AK-47 which was once used against terrorists in Kashmir, is today being used on students in Bihar. Even daughters are being beaten with sticks.
Dharmendra Pradhan targeted
Taking aim at Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Pappu Yadav said that instead of holding people responsible for incidents like paper leaks, they are being respected. He alleged that due to paper leak, thousands of students went through mental stress and many students even committed suicide. He said that honoring such a person by wearing Mithila Paag is an insult to the culture and honor of Mithila.
‘An atmosphere of fear has been created in the country’
Pappu Yadav also mentioned the police action against opposition leaders including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and accused the government of suppressing democratic voices. He said that an atmosphere of fear has been created in the country and those who raise their voice for the rights of students are being targeted.
On the other hand, even during the monsoon session of Parliament, the opposition demonstrated strongly on various issues including ‘use of pellet guns’. Many opposition MPs, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, KC Venugopal, Imran Pratapgarhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav and Mahua Moitra, demanded an answer from Home Minister Amit Shah in the House. Due to continuous uproar, the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha had to be adjourned till 2 pm, just minutes after the commencement.

At the same time, NDA MPs also demonstrated in the Parliament complex demanding transparency in the examination system and strict action against the culprits of paper leak. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, while appealing to the opposition to allow the House to function, said that sufficient time will be given to discuss the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, but due to the uproar by the opposition, the proceedings of the House could not continue for the stipulated time.
Pappu Yadav keeps looking in a unique style
Pappu Yadav has been one of the most vocal leaders on the issue of NEET paper leak and students since the beginning. After becoming MP from Purnia in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he also arrived in a different style to take the oath of Parliament. During that time, he had written ‘Re-NEET Exam’ on his T-shirt and raised the demand to conduct the exam again. Even after this, he continuously raised the voice of the students from Parliament to the streets. Protested many times in support of NEET candidates in Bihar, participated in protests and continuously raised demands from the government for fair investigation, strict action against the culprits and justice for the students. Reaching Parliament on Tuesday with a bandage on his head, sticks and bandages in his hand is also considered to be a part of the same movement, through which he registered his protest against the police action taken against the students.
