July 28, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Manipal Health IPO: The IPO of hospital chain ‘Manipal Hospitals’ is opening from tomorrow i.e. 29th July. This is a big IPO of Rs 9,275 crore, which was awaited in the market for a long time. In this IPO, you can buy shares of the company by investing at least Rs 14,750. Let us understand what are the special features of this IPO and whether you should invest your money in it.

You can invest from Rs 14,750

The company has fixed the price of one share between Rs 560 and Rs 590. According to stock market rules, common investors (retail) have to buy at least one lot. There are 25 shares in one lot of this IPO. If we calculate according to the highest price i.e. Rs 590, then you will have to invest at least Rs 14,750.

This IPO will be open for subscription from July 29 to July 31. After this, allotment will take place on 3rd August, that is, on that day you will know whether you will get the shares or not. The company’s shares will be listed in the stock exchanges (BSE and NSE) on August 5.

What will the company do with the money raised?

Manipal Health is today the largest hospital network in India in terms of number of beds. If we look at the data till March 2026, they have 49 hospitals running in 14 states of the country, which have more than 13 thousand beds.

The new amount of Rs 8,000 crore that the company will raise from the market through this IPO will be used to reduce its debt burden. Apart from this, some stake in Sahyadri Hospitals will also be purchased with this money. Talking about the company’s earnings, its income is increasing rapidly, but there has been a slight decline in the net profit (PAT) of the company as compared to last year.

Invest money or not, what is the opinion of experts?

Before investing money in any IPO, people definitely check the condition of gray market (GMP). At present there is not much movement regarding Manipal shares in the gray market. Today (July 28) its GMP is running at only Rs 13.5. This simply means that if the listing happens today, investors can make a modest profit of only about 2 percent.

Experts of well-known brokerage firm Anand Rathi say that the company has already kept the valuation of its shares quite high. Therefore, he has advised to invest in this IPO for long term instead of earning immediate profit on the day of listing.
